Title: How to Use fMRI in the Daily Practice of Addiction Treatment

Department of Psychiatry, University of Minnesota Dr Ekhtiari is trained as a psychiatrist and neuroscientist with special interest in addiction and interventional psychiatry. Dr Ekhtiari is currently assistant professor of psychiatry at University of Minnesota and associate director of clinical studies at Medical Discovery Team on Addiction (a state funded university flagship research center/team). Dr. Ekhtiari’s lab is focused to reshape the future of treatments for substance use disorders with individualized brain imaging, brain stimulation and cognitive technologies. Dr Ekhtiari serves as a board member in the International Society for Addiction Medicine (ISAM) and scientific director of Innovation Day in Addiction Therapeutics. Dr. Ekhtiari is the director of the international network of neuroimaging neuromodulation (INNN). INNN with over 50 lab members promotes international collaborations to increase research quality and implementation of non-invasive brain stimulation technologies in combination with neuroimaging. Dr Ekhtiari also co- direct the International Network of Transcranial-stimulation for Addiction Medicine (INTAM) and Addiction Cue Reactivity Network (ACRIN). Brain Awareness for Recovery materials that Dr Ekhtiari developed is now being translated into 22 different languages.
