The ISAR will be hosted at the Institute of Neurobiology UNAM campus Juriquilla located in Querétaro, the capital of the State of Querétaro. The area is named “Juriquilla” which is located at 21 km from Querétaro Downtown.
The city’s full name is “Santiago de Queretaro”, and although it’s spelled out fully on the doors of every taxi in the city, nobody uses the full name in normal conversation.
To reach Querétaro, there are many options, among which we recommend:
The City of Querétaro is served by Querétaro International Airport (QRO), which is a new and small international airport. There are direct daily flights from Monterrey, Mexico City, Cancun, and Tijuana, and international flights from Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago-Midway and Los Angeles in the US. Several new routes are likely to be open in the coming months.

For transportation from the airport to the hotel and venue, we recommend using Uber, Didi or Taxis. You can also rent a car. There is also a bus service from the airport to Querétaro Downtown (Alameda Central), which can be used using a contactless credit card ($ 37.00 MXN), which works from 5:00 until 19:00 hrs. The Institute of Neurobiology is 21 km from the Alameda Central.
There are many buses that go to Querétaro from major cities, such as Mexico City or Guadalajara. Buses are normally inexpensive. First class buses often offer movies and can be very comfortable. We recommend Primera Plus, Omnibus and ETN Turistar.
Taxis will take you anywhere in town for a fare from $100 MXN up to $200 (to the airport $500). Taxis do not have meters, so it is better to ask the fare first. Fares are established by the government and are determined by zone of pick up and zone of drop off. Uber and Didi are also readily available in the metropolitan area and are also a very convenient way of getting around the city.
There are many international direct flights to Mexico City. Querétaro is about 136 miles from Mexico City and at about 3 hours by bus/car. However, this is one of the most used roads in Mexico, and gets heavy traffic at certain times.
Upon arrival, you can take a bus to the Bus Station in Querétaro within the airport facilities as follows:
